English manual WD 2009:
If you have a big layout you can also reduce the amount of cables by using more than one HSI, but the total amount of feedback contacts may not be greater than 992.
In the German version it stand:
Die Begrenzung der Rückmeldekontakte auf 1984 bleibt jedoch bestehen.
I hope it is wrong in the E. manual
We have need for a lot more than 992 feedback

you are right. In WDP 2009 it is 1984 contacts maximum. 992 is a copy and paste error.
