Hello.
I am starting to try to use the linking of wagons to locomotives. I have several locos that use 7 passenger-wagons of identical types/lengths (different numbering of each wagons, but this does not matter here). I created a "group of wagons" with length 212cm in the vehicle database. All seems OK so far.
So, I linked the set of wagons to one loco. Seems OK, too.
But when I want to link another loco to the same type of wagons with tha same length, I cannot do so, as the group is greyed-out. Does this mean that I must make 7 identical groups of wagons in the vehicle database if I have 7 groups with identical wagon-types and length? I would like to re-use the same group for several locos.... To save space/work in the Vehicla database..
Best regards,
Per.
Hello Per,
a dataset can only be used once. But you can easily duplicate them. Just export the vehicle and reimport it as a new entry.
Hello.
OK, thank you. That is a pity, would be easier if it could be re-used. Now I need 7 identical groups instead of just one.
Best regards,
Per.
Helle,
I can explain you why. In the oncoming free update 2012.2 you can automatically couple and uncouple vehicles. Both locos and wagons. If you've got a train and uncouple all locos and the wagons are left alone WDP needs to know which one these are. That's the same as if you have two identical locos. So each wagon or wagon group needs its own entry in the database.
