Hello everybody,
I have a quick question: when you create routes or tours, you usually delete some of the routes or tours you just created, because there are wrong, inconsistent, etc. After deleting those items, if you organize your routes, tours list by ID number, you will notice that the ID numbering is not continuous. The deleted items are gone but they are in a certain way still considered by a gap in the numbering. Is it a way to make the ID list continuous, or do I have to live with? ;)
Hello Pierre
The ID is available only once. If this route is deleted, this ID is not assigned.
You can view the Routes but leave, and they modify, or override. Then the ID remains.
If you want to start from scratch, so you can from the project directory, the copy WDROUTES.mdb in the Wdigipet directory.
Thus, the old file will be replaced, and you have the initial state.
Hello Edwin:
I thank you for your quick reply. You confirm what I thought. I will do what you suggest. The only trouble is that you have to start from scratch. Fortunately I don't have too many routes to key in for the time being.
Hello Pierre,
I wonder why you want to do everything again only because the IDs are not continuous. WDP doesn't care about it and we are talking about nothing else but numbers. Mine have a lot of gaps. But so what?
Hello Stefan:
You're talking wisdom! There is no logical reason, I guess I don't like gaps in a number sequence. You're right: it would be simply silly to redo everything.
Thank you again: you avoid me some useless work!
Hello,
one question: Does it mean that in case you have deleted routes the total maximum number of routes is also decreased?
best regards

Hello Luc,
No, that is not the case.
With regards, Henk
Hello,
well, kind of because you can't reuse that number. But don't worry. You can make at least 32768 routes before you reach the end. Or 2147483648, Markus wasn't quite sure here. But I think even 32768 should be enought. :)
Stefan, Henk,
Ok that is more than enough. I will probably never reach that amount :'(, because if I did I would be bankrupt before in bying so much material and equipment.
Best regards
Luc
