Hello
I'm looking for some help
I'm new on Windigipet, I'm using Windigipet small and märklin CS2 just to control 26 turnouts and 18 light signals on
my station module.
I haven't figured out yet how to turn the light signal to turn red when the loco passes.
The reed contact near the signal works and at the feedback monitor it looks correct.
Probably just some setting I don't know how? :-\
Hello Lasse,
you need a route from one point to the next, usually from one signal to the next. Use the built in assistant to create routes. The big advantage is that the assistant automatically switches all signals at the right time where the loco runs that route.
Hello Lasse,
The suggestion from Stefan is of course the solution to your issue, i will add just a small suggestion. The route creation assistant set automatically the signal to red when the starting feedback contact is set to free (see attached image Basesetting.jpg), and this event took place when all the train leave the station, i suggest you to change the automatic setting and use the contact immediately after the signal as occupied (see attached image ChangeSetting.jpg) with this setting the signal turns red immediately after the loco pass it as happens in the real world.
I hope this will help you to sort your issue.
Hello,
I'm just stepping in after i read :

Of course it's possible to use WDP as a switchboard, but then it's only working on 5% of it's power :-)
But if you really only want to use it as a switchboard and manually switch the signals, it can be done with placing signals in your railplan.
Connect the signals to the right decoder adres (railplan editor) and that's it ...
You just only have to click on the signals to change the signal...
But again... it's like having a beautiful woman and do not more with it than only looking at it :-)

If I understand correct it needs a complete route the change signal aspect automatically.
A single reed contact can't trigg digipet to change signal aspect, am I right?

Thank you Eric
The manual switching works without problem.
I thougt it was possible for a single reed contact to trigg a signal to red aspect when the train passed the reed contact, with out routes.
Now I only have two reed contacts at the beginning and at the end of the station, but I have prepared for more and will add.
I use Team digital DBD22 - DCC Block Detector, because I only use the station on module meetings with loconet bus on the tracks.

Hi Lasse
In effect you can trigger the signal aspect using the reed contact defining a dispatcher event that can be triggered without having routes defined, i mean that this event is executed even if you drive your locos manually.
Hi
Pierangelo
Thank you Pierangelo
I have lots of routes in my station but still not enough train detection/reed contacts, bu I working on it.
I will continue to figure out how to make it work :D
Reg/Lasse
Hi Lasse,
the good new is that Pierangelo is right. The bad news is that the dispatcher is not included in the small version. Either you make the upgrade to the premium version or you use the routes. It is not necessary to run the routes automatically. You can chose only to set the switches and signals right when selecting the route but run the loco manually. In this case the signals also will switch when you pass them.

Hello Reg/lasse,
I think you're at a point to make a decision... In both versions you ar able to do what you want to get done.
But in the small version it takes more steps to come to your final wish.
In my opinion if you're just a manual driver and prefer only to use the program as a switchboard then stay at the small version ...
This small version is exactly what's his name tells you... for small Users with a small lay-out. as soon as you exceed the small limitations it's time to take the premium.
If you prefer to do more with the program in the future i recommend to switch over to the Premium. Beter take some time to get the amount together than do things half way :-)
I'm also new in WDP since several months and i didn't regret my choise.
The more you know it ... the more you'll love it !

Hi Eric
Your right I just use Windigipet for my railway station module.
Routes within the station and manually controling some turnouts and signals.
But now I'm stuck at the "50 limit" border so I have to upgrade to move on.
Regards
Lasse

i'm sure as soon you explore more of these fine extra functions, you will be happy you made the upgrade.
It's just like a woman you choose because she's a good dancer ... as soon you find out she's also a good cook you apreciate here more and more ... :-)
