Hi!
I just upgraded the PC I run WDP on from Windows7 to Windows10. All looked OK, no error-messages. So I started the WDP Startcenter, Also all OK. I ran the office-version, OK.
But then I tried the Layout-version (which worked fine before the update). Nothing happen... The Starcenter window disappeared, but no Layout window appeared. I tried to re-start the startcenter, but got a message that the startcenter already is started.
What must I do to be able to run the Layout-version again?
Best regards,
Per.
Hi Per,
start the Startcenter with Right Mouse Button -> Select Run as administrator from the menu. Does this help?

Hi again.
Maybe I should try to re-install WDP in this Win10 ?
Per.
Hello Per,
that is one option. If you do so please uninstall WDP first then look for the setup.exe on the stick, make a right click on it and choose "run as administrator".
Another option is to check your anti-virus program if it blocks WDP. I would do this first.
Hello again.
I re-installed WDP (as administrator, of course, I always do..), still the same.
I am not familiar with Win10 (just upgraded to it), so I do not know which anti-virus to look for.
Maybe I have to re-install Win7...?

Per.
Hello again.
Sorry to bother you all....:)
I have now un-installed Windows 10 end re-installed Windows 7. All worked OK. So I once more upgraded to Windows 10 (exactly the same as first time), and voila, now it works !
I don't know what was wrong the first time, but now it works, so all should be OK. I hope.... :)
Best regards,
Per.
Per,
While Windows 10 works fine with WDP 2015, it does cause problems with some peripherals that are used by WDP on a modern layout.
For example, I notice that you use HSI-88. One thing that Windows 10 does is to force you to download the latest drivers for your hardware. For some reason this update starts about a week after you upgrade to Windows 10. You think that everything is working great and then the next time you start the computer, WDP reports that the HSI-88 is not working.
In my case, the USB to Serial converter I was using had counterfeit chip (unknown to me when I purchased the adapter), which no longer worked with the new driver and consequentially the HSI-88 stopped working. There is some information here (https://www.marklin-users.net/forum/posts/t34475-Windows-10-and-HSI-88).
Otherwise, Windows 10 works great on my system.
