Titel: How to set functions in decoder in a wagon, by profile?
Beitrag von: Per Olsen in 01. Januar 2016, 08:40:55
Hello.

Happy new year to you all, and thank you all for many helpful hints last year!  Keep them coming !!!!  :)

New issue:
I have a train with a locomotive and some waggons, and the last waggon has a built-in decoder for interior lights and other functions.  The loco has the digital adress 36 and the waggon has 34.  I have set them up as a train with loco and waggons. I hope that is correct...

My question is this:  How do I change things in that waggon (function?) decoder when running a profile?

I have included the 34-adress as a function-decoder in the 36-loco.  I think that is correct..?

I have tried to read about this in the 2015 german manual, and also looked in the 2012 english manual, but I am still none the wiser, sorry..

Best regards,
Per.

no, this is not necessary.

Use a train profile (or Loco ID0). This applies to all vehicles in the train.

Hi !

Is that so?  So in a profile, both decoders (the one with adress 36 and the one with adress 34) in the train will respond to commands from the profile?  So if I f.ex. set Headlights ON, both decoders will do so, if there is anything connected to that output of both decoders?

If so, I did not know that.....

Regards,
Per.

Hello,

translated with Google:
Of course this is so, I would write it otherwise?  ;) Important are the feature icons in the Control. It is connected the function with the appropriate symbol on all vehicles in the train. No matter which output or which F key.

Hello again.

Sorry if I offended you...  I am not at home right now, so I cannot test this before monday.

I thought WDP only knew the adress of the loco-decoder, the trains own (if present) function-decoder (declared in the loco-setup) or any locos set up for traction.  I did not know that WDP would be able to control any other decoders in the train.

Best regards
Per.
