Hello.
I have several trains that have high-beam activated with F1, and that change from the front of the train, to the back of the train, depending on the direction of travel of the train. Works very fine to turn the light on/off via profiles when entering/leaving a station.
But now I have a new train that has a headlight in front activated with F1 and a headlight at the other end activated with F2. Individually. And they are not changed with a change in direction of travel..
So my question is, how can I write the profiles so that the correct headlight is turned on/off (either F1 or F2) ?
I am a little lost here, sorry...
Regards,
Per.
Hi Per,
you have to write a profile that - with the change of direction - deactivates F1 and activates F2. Unfortunately this can't be done automatically.
Hi.
How do I make the profile check for direction of travel?
Per.
Hi Per,
you don't. It's within the route. The route has the information about the direction (the arrows >>> or <<<). If you create a route with the direction >>> and the loco stands in the opposite direction this route can't be used. WDP will not select it when running the automatic because the directions of the loco and the route are different.
Hi.
I am sorry, I must be blind...:)
Where do I find these <<< ?? I am looking at my profiles, but cannot find that info. Where is it?
Regards,
Per.
Hello Per,
actually there is an option to set functions depending on the direction. I have to thank my beta colleagues. Please look at the picture. This is possible if you use ID0 or train profiles. Then you have Vorne, Mitte, Hinten (Front, Middle, Back).
The arrows I meantioned before you can see in the TNDs. I can give you an exaple if you need one.
Hi.
Sorry, I do not quite understand.... I do find the "Normal, Vorne, Hinten,.." etc. But what does it mean in relation to travelling direction ? I think I do need an example, if you can..?
Regards,
Per.
Hi,
x = both direction
> = forward
< = backward
press the SHIFT key and double-click on the x to get > and <
Hello again.
OK, now I see! Thank you for your patience....
Is this feature documented? I did not find it...
Best regards,

Hi again.
Can you have a look at this jpg and see if I understand correctly? I did not try this out. Yet....
I want the headlight in front to be on when train runs forward, and I want the headlight at the rear to be on when the train runs "backwards". Does this example seem correct?
Regards,
Per.

There's no more to say from my part. Anyhow Jürgen is much more into profiles then I am!
Hi Per,
i'm sorry, but i think the description of this feature is getting lost in the 2015th documentation. ::)
Hello all.
Thank you again. I will test it as soon as I can. Hope it will be entered in the next documentation :)
Best regards,
