Hello.
I invested in a new PC for my WinDigiPet layout. The PC has Windows 11 installed. I have installed WDP ans updated all configs from my old PC. All seems to work fine in Office version.
But to make it work in Layout version, I need to install the proper drivers for my Tams controller, and for the 2 LDT HSI-88-USB. My original CDs for those, do not work in Win 11. I have searched the net, but have not found any solution.
Can you help me?
Best regards,
Per Olsen.
Hello again.
I have solved the driver-problem with LDT HSI-88 USB drivers, they seem to work now. But I still need to proper install driver for Tams. Hope for some help :)
Regards,
Per.
Hello Per,
you can find the drivers for your tams master control on this page:
https://tams-online.de/epages/642f1858-c39b-4b7d-af86-f6a1feaca0e4.sf/de_DE/?ObjectID=6588559 (https://tams-online.de/epages/642f1858-c39b-4b7d-af86-f6a1feaca0e4.sf/de_DE/?ObjectID=6588559)
under "Download" and then "USB-Treiber".
Best to try is the "Win9x" driver of this zip-file.
Michael
Hello Michael!
Thank you for your reply.
I followed the link, went to Download. But I do not find "USB-Treiber" there. What am I missing..?

Hello Per,
maybe the sreenshot will help you.
Michael
Hello again.
Aha, OK! I clicked on the Download in the list to the left. But now I have it, so I will download it and try it.
Thank you!
Per.
Hi again.
I have downloaded now, they are actually identical to the drivers on the original CD (as I have here). It is said to start the PREINSTALLER.EXE, but that displays an error message. So it is not installed.
I will try some more...
Per
Hello Per,
id could be neccessary to install the drivers "as admin" in win11.
Michael
OK, I will try.
No, it did not work either. I did find the Tams in the list of unknown USB units on the PC, and I tried to update the driver with the one from the net, but the PC says it cannot find any driver in the Win9x directory
Hi Per,
is there a compatibillity-mode in win11 like win10 has one?
Michael
I don't know. I bought this PC today, Windows 11 is new to me :)
I even copied (I did not expect it to work) the driver-files that Tams uses in my old Win10 PC, to my new PC, that did not work either, Win11 still says it cannot find any driver for the Tams controller.
What else can I do? Must a buy a newer controller to use with WinDigiPet under Windows 11 ? Hmm...
Per
Hello Per,
my next step would be to contact tams.
https://tams-online.de
At the upper menu "Kontakt" and fill up the form.
Michael
Hello.
I already have done that, thanks anyway :)
Per.
Hello Per,
since Win10 its is not allowed by Microsoft to use "unsigned Drivers" !
To use the TAMS Driver you have to disable the Control mechanisem in your PC!
for Win 10 Tams had this directions to disalbe it on Win 10
https://tams-online.de/WebRoot/Store11/Shops/642f1858-c39b-4b7d-af86-f6a1feaca0e4/MediaGallery/15_Download/Sonstiges/Treiberinstall_Win10.pdf
Perhaps there might be an similar possibility for Win 11!
Hello.
Thank you.
I did try, and now I get an error-message saying that a driver has been found, but it cannot be loaded because it is defect, or has been tempered with.
Per.
Hi Per,
we had similar Problems at a users Layout in Frankfurt. We could solve the driver problems with the original silabs driver. Please refer to the Website of silabs, download the actual driver and install it manually.
Hello Bernd!
Thank you. I looked at the site, but did not find any driver for Tams in Windows 11. I guess I am not looking in the right places...
Regards,
Per.
Hi Per,
I,ll try to find the driver and send you a link later on. Currently i'm on vacation in Italy. The driver is not especially for the Tams Master Control but supports the chipset built in the MC
OK, thank you!
I look forward to that.
I need to get WDP running on my new Windows 11 PC as soon as possible :)

Per.
Hi Per,
here it is: https://www.silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers?tab=downloads (https://www.silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers?tab=downloads)
Please download the CP210x Universal Windows Drivers, extract it to your hard disk and install the driver manually by using the windows device manager (right klick to the windows startsymbol) Within the dialogue you have to choose "search for drivers on my computer" and then navigate to the directory where you extract the driver before. Maybe you get some error messages but normally you can ignore them. The silabs driver should be a certified driver and so on win 11 should accept the driver. If you have success please keep the file and of course the link for future updates. In some cases the Windows Update are overwriting the drivers with otherones which don't work. It is possible, that the mumber of the COM-Port will changed You have to verify this and correct in in Win-Digipet.
Regards Bernd
Hi!
THANK YOU!!!
I will give it a try tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes.
Best regards,
Per.
Hi.
I had some time, so I tried it now. I did exactly as described, unpacked the files etc. But again, windows says it cannot find any drivers for Tams controller in the specified directory where I unpacked the files.
So I am still not able to use the Tams controller in my new Win11 PC.
Regards,
Per
SOLVED!
Thanks to Thomas. I tried again, and this time it worked. I disabled Win11 check of the drivers, and this time I could install a driver. So now it seems to work.
I will test some more, but ity looks good!
Thanks to all of you for your help!
Best regards,
Per.
