Hello.
I have just installed a new PC with Win11. I installed WDP 2025, all OK.
I am alerted that there is a new upgrade, but when I try to download it, i get a message that it cannot be downloaded safely.
Any help?
Regards,
Per.
Hi Per,
as always...
The files are safe, virus checked and digitally signed.
You need to convince your browser/virus scanner to allow the file download. With Firefox browser e.g. this usually no problem.
Or just use the online update function in the Startcenter.
Addition:
I managed also to download with Chrome via right mouse -> "Save links as" and selecting to keep this file

Hello Markus!
Please excuse me, I never meant to imply that the software was unsafe!
I meant that I wanted some help to install it on my new PC with Windows 11, as it installed (like always) OK on my other PC with Windos 10. As this is my first Win11 PC, I was sure I needed some help to allow the software to be downloaded. So again, excuse me, I know the WDP software is safe, of course :)
Yesterday, I tried many times withe the built-in Edge browser and with Chrome. I also tried with the update-function in WDP, the same warning everywhere.
I tried again now, and now it worked. I do not know why, I made no changes since last try.
So I am happy!
Have a nice day,
Best ragards,
Per.
Hello again.
Sorry to bother you again, but some more info:
The upgrade now worked via the online update function in the Startcenter.
But I tried again, via the browsers, and it still does not work there. I disabled the McAfee (have had some trouble with that one earlier :) ), but that did not help. So obviously, I do have a problem with my PC.
By the way, a file actually IS downloaded, it is called
Unconfirmed 745235, type crdownload, size 37 820 760
Maybe this actually IS the correct file, given another name as my PC thinks it is unsafe. I don't know.
This surely is not a WDP-problem, I will try to find a solution elsewhere :)
Regards,
Per.
Hi Per,
Here on my PC too, the update was rejected by both Microsoft Edge and Google; even when I clicked the 'Keep' button, the download didn't start.
It was the same story on another PC, both running Windows 11.
But with the 'Brave' browser, it finally worked by opening the WDP link in a so-called private window. Then the download did work.
It's in the Windows 11 settings; apparently, these WDP2025.exe files aren't yet on Microsoft's whitelist.
Another option is to temporarily lower the security settings. However, given the current situation on the internet, this has put me off doing so.
All the best,
Rupert
