Hello,
I have difficulties to match distance stop into profiles with the distance requested. (see attached file):
How does it work:
if I want to stop at a given position entering a detecton area:
Does the distance we enter take sinto account the length of the locomotive or do we just cover the distance from first contact wheel to same wheel position when stopped ?
To make it more simple, I have difficulties to stop the locomotive on the uncoupling rail.
My locs Have been speed calibrated with the Marion Zeller bench with 15 measurements points and 15 seconds measurements each.
This post also adress general difficulties to match measured distances and positions obtained with intelligent train number display to stop at given positions.
Any comments on this to?

Thanks.
Regards.

Hello

I have been playing with this function. Have you entered all the block lengths in on your plan? And also in the loco database for each loco all there measurements?

Hi James,
For each loco and blocks used: yes.
My main concern is to understand the distance function in the profile editor.
Regards.

Hello,

it's measured from the first wheel that makes a feedback.

Thanks Stefan,
Does it takes in consideration the specific length of each machine or purely displacement of that first whell?

Hello,

no, it does not consider the length of the train. Usually you want to specify the location where the front of the loco stops not the end. In your case it's the other way round. Here you have to create loco specific profiles.
