Hallo Zimo User  :),

Step by step, I'm starting to understand the HLU better and better.
It seems that Windigipet supports the HLU much more extensively than I had thought.  :)
Thanks for the hard work Markus.

The HLU can be configured for every route on the status of a Feedback or Reflex/ Hall Sensor .
The GA on the Stein88V displays the status immediately, and the HLU status can also be seen in the 'Train number' field.
The stops are very consistent, but very difficult to define.

What I find confusing is the 'Or at End' checkbox.
Is this to be regarded as an internal fail-safe in Windigipet, applied to the time/distance calculation of the braking distance to a stop?

I have calibrated the Zimo decoder's internal speed scale,  based on the results of the WDP speed calibration.
So I receive the decoder's internal km/h via Railcom on the MX33, and that is almost exactly correct.

Am I on the right track by leaving this out when I want to use the HLU stop command to the decoder?
Kind regards,
Rupert van Swol

Hello Rupert,

ZitatWhat I find confusing is the 'Or at End' checkbox.

This was a request by users who wanted to be able to execution one of the switching actions when arriving at a contact position in station track. But they wanted the execution also when a short train stops in the mid of the platform and the defined contact could never be reached due to train length.
Another uses case is an action, that you be executed when a contact gets free, but if the train is so long it never gets free before the train reaches the destination. Here also the "or at end" is a fallback solution.

ZitatAm I on the right track by leaving this out when I want to use the HLU stop command to the decoder?
Zimo asked me to implement the HLU options when implementing the Zimo system, thus I did this. But to be honest, I don´t have time to investigate how the HLU options reasonable. I can only make this tool available, but not more.

Markus

Dear Markus,
Thanks for your explanation.
I need a moment to let it sink in.

Apparently, Windigipet works as a hybrid system with options that allow you to choose, on a given route, between Windigipet's internal algorithm—which is very good, or the hardcore power of the Zimo system.

I'll will try out,  a few more braking distance and stopping scenarios,  so that I can make the most of the best of both worlds.

best Regards
