Hello all,

This is my first post here.

I'm new in the world of controlling a MRR Layout with PC + software.
The first layout was hardware controlled only.

I make my first section plan for the control software.
See the images below.

Hello Timaximus,

first of all: Welcome to our forum. With regards to your note that your previous layout was hardware-controlled only I guess you will be amazed when you recognise what opportunities you have by using software to control your model railroad.

Regarding WHAT you'd like to have some comments/advise?

Hello Rüdiger,

If possible other Win-Digipet users like you can look at my current track plan.
And if you find some faults in it, report it here, so that I can solve the problem.
I'm new with Win-Digipet and want to know if the planned sections are ok for a reliable functioning of the layout.

And when the planned sections are already ok, I leave it this way.

Some tech. info:
- Total number of track sections (for now): 22 + 6 + 18 + 6 + 40 + 4 = 96.
- I use "current" detection as feedback.
Which means that all the track sections (grey, magenta, white) are powered and monitored with Uhlenbrock 63 340.
- Along the track are also extra triggers for extra and special effects via Mass detection.
These contact tracks are monitored with Uhlenbrock 63 350.

I already use these devices on the old layout in combination with the LISSY system from Uhlenbrock.

Hello all,

I have to wait for the Full Dutch version (translation) until summer.

So for now I installed the DEMO version.
And my first impressions are very good.
Easy in use and clear interface.

If possible I will test a small part of our new layout.
Because of the limitations of the DEMO version I have to change (cut) a bit of the layout.

Hello all,

Start today with implementing WDP 9 into my layout.
I must say that it works very nice and with ease.

Results in just 30 minutes.

After inserting the layout of the lower shadow station into the Track Editor we tested the feedback from the track sections and activated some switches.
And that just works great.
Also driving the train with the laptop is fun.

Best regards,

Yes - it is great to watch the trains going, while you are working on the scenery (or removing a wall to extend the layout ) , knowing that they will not crash..

I like WDP 9 - when the new layout is bedded down - I will explore the new tour feature..

Cheers

Hello Timaximus,

the stopsections you signed are a little bit to long, maybe about 36 cm. are long enough.

I ordered the Dutch version today, and hope i have it next week.

Hi all,

generally a too long stop section is better than too short, but I agree with Wisba, two pcs 24188 (= 37.6cm) is long enough.
Ofcourse short stop sections have to be entered with slow speed, so a longer braking section is needed before stop sections, except in shunting yards, were speeds are low all the time.  Slow deceleration makes also a realistic running impression.

very best regards,
  Juha

Hello all,

The STOP sections you mentioned are actually both BRAKE and STOP sections.
The trains brake and stop in the same section.
So I have blocks with 2 sections only in the non-visible areas (Drive + Stop).

I only add some extra sections in the station area to get a more natural brake of the trains.
So only in the visible area I have blocks with 3 separate sections (Drive + Brake + Stop).

And this setup works just fine.
