Dear All,

Despite I activated the "Play welcome sound" in the Option/Help Startcenter, the Windigipet welcoming message is not being played on my new laptop under Window 10 Pro, while on my desktop under Window 10 the sound is played.

Thanks you if someone knows the answer how to fix this small issue.

Hello Olivier,

does your new laptop play any sounds at all? It's obviously a problem of your laptop not of WDP. If there's no sound check the volume and the windows settings (correct speakers chosen?) and update the speaker's driver.

Stefan

Hi Oliver,
please check if the file "welcome.wav" exists in the directory of WDP "Sound". If not, copy the file from the USB stick

Dear Peter and Stefan,

Thank you both for your assistance, you are right Peter the Welcome wave file was missing, in fact the full Sound folder was missing in my WDIGIPET folder. Is it because on my desktop Windigipet 2015 was first installed and then upgraded to Windigipet 2018, while on the laptop there is no history of Windigipet 2015?

Then I carefuly checked each sub folders, I noticed many differences for example in Symbole folder. Is it an issue for Windigipet to run properly from my laptop? Should I do a full copy of WDIGIPET folder which has the 2015 history to my laptop, or it does not matter?

Thank you again for your feedback, now the welcoming sounds is played when I start Windigipet.

With my best regards.

Olivier

Hello Olivier,

well, what you should do is a full backup of your WDP 2018 project, copy it to your laptop and restore it within WDP. When you create a backup within WDP all files will be saved that are necessary. So when you do a restore on you laptop all necessary files will be there.
Viele Grüße,
Stefan

Hi Olivier,

the symbol folder file´s content and number differ by principle between 2015 and 2018 because we changed file format between theses versions.

Dear Stefan and Markus,

Thank you very much for your answers and clarifications. I did a backup of my project under Windigipet 2018, so basically everything should work fine from the laptot and be able to pilot my train as normal from my new laptop.

I wish you a nice end of the week.

With my best regards.
