Hi there.

I have some troubles connecting the Tams KSM3 Loop module. I have connected the module. BUT how do i connect the return module.
I use Digikeijs DR5000 and Digikeijs DR4088 Returnmodule. All Connected via Loconet bus. If i connect the returnmodule on normal, WDP shows the route occupied all the time, even when there is no trains on the route. So can anybody help me solve this.?????

Regards Brian

most loop-moduls, so Tams KSM3 are designed to work completely independently.
Normally Windigipet needs no information from the module. Occupation in the loop is rather difficult ti realize. Your 4088CS-LN are  current-sensors, but the Tams KSM3 also are feeling current. So the 4088CS-LN feels, that the KSM3 itselve needs current in this part off the track and so its sending the Information someting needs current (means occupated) .

May be you find a solution with reed-kontakts or par example with light-sensors for signaling parts in the loop as occupated.

Hi Brian,

this is one of the oldest problems and it is not easy to solve. The problem is the change of polarity. This will confuse many feedback decoders. Some manufacturers have special ports for this requirement. I'm not sure about the 4088 please refer to the manual.
Basically it would be a better choice to take a looback module with sensoring tracks (e.g. KSM-4).
In this case you'll get an totally isolated section between the two sensor tracks. This could be connected to the described above special ports of the feedback decoder.

Hi Vikr.

Thanks for the summary.
I will try with read contacts.
Maybe i will try IR sensor.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi Brian,
As Bernd described it, it's not exactly easy.
But I think there's a solution for that, too.
Basically, you need a feedback module where you connect both pins from the KSM3 not directly to the track, but to the feedback module, and then from the feedback module to the track.

I haven't tested this myself, but as far as I understand it, it should work.
